Aldex Softener Resin C-800×10

No Chlorinated Solvents

The absence of chlorinated solvents in the manufacturing

of Aldex C-800×10 results in very low TOC leakage.

Very low color, taste or odor

Aldex C-800×10 meets the requirements for paragraph

173.25 of the Food Additive Regulation of the U.S. Food

and Drug Administration.

High Capacity

30,000 grains of softening capacity when regenerated

with 15 lbs of NaCl per cubic foot and 20,000 grains with

6 lbs of NaCl per cubic foot ensuring high efficiency and

low operating costs.

Long Life

Strong and durable beads ensure long service life.

Reliability

Over 45 years of actual field usage by thousands of

customers demonstrate the reliability of Aldex C-800×10.

Why we use Aldex 10% Chlorine resistant / extended life resin

Oxidants such as chlorine, chloramine, ozone, peroxide, etc. are the ultimate enemy of water softening resin.  Exposure of resin to greater than 1 part per million (PPM) of these oxidants WILL break the resin down over time, eventually causing a flow and pressure drop throughout the entire home or business, necessitating the replacement of the resin.

An “Aldex Rule of Thumb” is that every 1 PPM increase in oxidant levels above 1 PPM cuts an 8% crosslinked resin’s normal life expectancy (6-8 years) in half.

Higher crosslinked resins (10% in our case) are scientifically formulated to have greater resistance to oxidants, and will last longer in water with elevated oxidant levels (> 1 PPM).  A 10-year case study in a residential environment with an oxidant level of 5 PPM showed a significant cost savings due to a reduced frequency of required resin changeouts over the course of the study.

While higher crosslinked resins have a higher upfront cost, that cost is more than offset by the extended lifespan of the resin, and the
reduction in needed change outs.
